Backup systems

Data protection

Almost every PC user once lived the moment when he lost his data. Being prophesy allows turning the despair into a quick recovery of files. To prevent it, a simple solution is to schedule a backup. In fact, all the data is divided into two groups - secured and... not yet lost.

Every day, individuals, companies and large corporations lose their data due to hard drive failure, accidental file deletion, or other unforeseen circumstances. Stress and anger are the least bad consequences of this loss. If case of companies, quite often it means a serious financial loss, including the risk of bankruptcy. Hard drive in the computer is a mechanical device, so it is obvious that sooner or later it could get damaged. Sometimes it happens, that the SMART technology (hard disk reliability and performance monitoring) does not warn the user on time, or he will ignore the unknown message.
Mechanical failure of the hard drive is only one of the many possible way to lose data. It can be damaged by electrical surges (often the cause turns out to be a poor quality power supply in the computer) or a power failure. The data can also be damaged due to viruses, other malicious software or a simple human error.

A copy of all your important files and data should be stored in a different location than where the computer is located. In case of theft, thief takes the drive with him. It could be also destroyed by the fire or flood. Minimal security precaution is to store secure data in a different location of your home or business. The ideal solution would be to keep the data in a completely different, well-protected building.
Microservice offers a number of advanced backup solutions and the ability to implement them for the needs of a particular customer.
Solutions proposed by us will depend on the amount of data to be saved in the backup, the amount of protected servers and the specific requirements of certain applications.

These include, for example:
  • the simpliest data backup to an external device - for example, a portable hard drive connected to the server via USB of Firewire interface
  • implementation of the streamer device - all the data is copied to a special tape that can be stored in a safe place. This solution is recommended when the amount of data to save is already big enough. Read and write speed of the tape will be many times greater than the external USB drive.
  • implementation of tape library (autochanger) - a solution recommended when the amount of data to store is already very high. Tape library is usually equipped with more than one storage unit, so the data can be stored on several tapes simultaneously. It also has an additional belt clip that can be used if data exceeds the size of a single backup tape.
Regardless of the chosen solution, it is also necessary to implement and configure the appropriate software that will perform backups automatically.
Our specialists have years of experience in developing and designing backup systems. Certainly we will choose the best solution for you.
